Today, many left-leaning pundits push Critical Race Theory. What is it, and where does it come from?
CRT is the leftist reaction to losing arguments on the economic front because of the empirical success of American capitalism. It is an outgrowth of French postmodernists (mainly Focault) that substitutes race for class and posits that EVERYTHING in Western Society is irretrievably racist, because it was invented by white Europeans. In practice, CRT divides everyone by skin color. You are either an “oppressor” or “oppressed”.
You cannot change your category. So little children must be taught to hate their color and their country if they are white, and to hate their country and children with a different skin color, if black. They must ignore the greatness of our founders and the miracle of the American system. They must ignore the melting pot and the amazing dream of Martin Luther King. In other words, it is hateful, divisive tripe that will do tremendous damage to our country if it takes hold.
Generally, those who say they believe Critical Race Theory fall into one or more of four categories. 1) a person wanting to be accepted by leftists; to “go along to get al9ng”, who lacks, ironically, education in critical thinking skills; 2) an America hater (many recently imported by the Administration’s open border policy 3) well-meaning but naive persons who confuse CRT with anti-racism (actually, the truth is that CRT IS racism; or 4) a leftist politician who wants power.
